Crews and Responsibilities

The Parks and Recreation Department has five (5) crews that maintain the City's parks, athletic fields, and traffic islands.

Parks Crew:      Tim Mari, Parks Maintenance Supervisor.  marit@mtnbrook.org

                                  This crew maintains the City's parks and trails. 

                                   Jemison Trail was named Birmingham's Best Trail of 2018 and 2019.

Turf Crew:         Allen Jones, Turfgrass Supervisor.  jonesa@mtnbrook.org

                                 This crew maintains the athletic fields at all the schools.

Route Crew:     Dean Brazier, Labor Supervisor.  brazierd@mtnbrook.org

                                 This crew maintains over 106 traffic islands and sections of Right-of-Way.

Complex Crew:       Blake Barkley, Labor Supervisor.  barkleyp@mtnbrook.org    

                                             This crew maintains the athletic facilities at Mountain Brook High School.

Construction Crew:   Sam Harris, Labor Supervisor.  harriss@mtnbrook.org

                                             This crew completes special projects and assists other crews.

Administration:          LaTorya Mines, Administrative Assistant   minesl@mtnbrook.org

                                             She handles all of our finances, HR, Park Board records, and facility rentals.

                                         Shanda Williams, Superintendent   williamssh@mtnbrook.org

                                            Oversees all operations of the department.
