Fire Prevention Office

Chief Rhudy began his career with the Mountain Brook Fire Department in 1999. 

He has served the department as a Firefighter/Paramedic, Apparatus Operator, Lieutenant and Battalion Chief. Chief Rhudy completed his paramedic training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Athens State University in Public Safety and Health Administration.

As Fire Marshal, Chief Rhudy’s duties include: public education, fire cause determination, blasting ordinance supervisor, fire inspection and code enforcement in all new and existing buildings and plan review for all new construction to assure compliance with the fire and life safety codes.
