Jennifer Cornett joined the City of Mountain Brook in October 2025 as Assistant City Manager/Finance Director. She previously served as Chief Financial Officer for the City of Hoover and spent nearly two decades at Auburn University's Harbert College of Business, where she taught and mentored thousands of students and received multiple university teaching awards. Her earlier career includes public accounting experience with Barfield, Murphy, Shank & Smith PC, as well as several management roles in commercial with Green Tree Financial Corporation and ITT Commercial Finance.
Jennifer is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Alabama and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Alabama Society of Public Accountants. She earned her master of Accounting from the University of Alabama and her bachelor's degree in accounting from Kennesaw State University. She and her husband reside in Mountain Brook and have two adult sons.
