First Responders Foundation

The Mountain Brook First Responder Foundation was established to benefit those who put their lives, and their families' quality of life, on the line every day. There have been many discussions, over the years, of starting a foundation here in Mountain Brook that would benefit our Police and Fire Departments. Through the intentional and unselfish determination of our city government and several community leaders, we are blessed that a Mountain Brook First Responder Foundation has officially been established.  It will be a source of assistance and financial support for any of our first responders in their time of need.   We are fortunate to have some of Mountain Brook’s best business and financial minds establishing and serving on the board of the Mountain Brook First Responder Foundation.

The MBFRF’s sole mission is to assist our first responders, and their immediate family, in the event of a serious “life event”. This could be anything from an injury, illness, death or personal disaster, such as a fire or weather damage to a home.  There have been several past situations where this type of assistance was needed, and not available.  Both Police and Fire departments have had personnel injured while off duty that workman's compensation does not cover.  We have also had personnel suffer damage to their homes due to flooding and fire.  The MBFRF would have been helpful in assisting these officers while waiting for insurance coverage to take effect.

Foundations such as the Mountain Brook First Responder Foundation have shown to be a valuable resource in several of our neighboring cities, and we are now grateful to have one here.  We look forward to seeing our foundation fully implemented and seeing the impact it has on our first responders, and their families.  Our hope is that these funds are never needed, but it is gratifying to know that the foundation is available when there is a need.  To donate, please visit https://mbfrfoundation.org/. We appreciate your support!
