Polling Districts
City of Mountain Brook Polling Districts
Candidates elected to office in the August 23, 2022 general municipal election will take office on the first Monday in November. Only municipal elections are administered by the City. All other elections are administered by the State through Jefferson County.
Polling
For convenience, the City has adopted polling districts that match the State's congressional districts. Accordingly, there are six (6) polling districts in the City of Mountain Brook. For federal, state, and county elections, most residents of the City are assigned to one of the six polling districts located in the City. However, there are some residents assigned to polling districts outside of the City and there may be voters residing outside of the City assigned to polling districts in the City for these federal, state, and county elections.

For the city elections, all residents are required to vote within their city of residence.
Accordingly, for those residents assigned to polling districts outside of the city, the City re-assigns voters to one of the City's six polling districts.
In [City] election years, the City sends out postcards to residents assigned to polling districts outside of the City (usually in August): 1) informing residents of the upcoming election, 2) reporting the names of registered voters at the address reported by the Jefferson County Board of Registrars, and 3) instructing voters as to their specific polling location.
