Boone has served the City of Mountain Brook since 1996, when he joined as Finance Director. Over the years, he has served in a variety of leadership roles, including Assistant City Manager beginning in 2020 and City Clerk from 2001 to 2021. Boone was named Acting City Manager on November 4, 2025, and assumed the position of City Manager effective December 1, 2025.
He is a past president of the Government Finance Officers Association of Alabama and a member of the International City County Management Association, Alabama City County Management Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants and Shades Valley Rotary Club. Boone earned both his Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He and his wife reside in Mountain Brook and have two children and three grandchildren.
