The City of Mountain Brook is proud to announce the grand opening of its newly constructed Fire Station #2.
A community celebration will be held on Thursday, May 22, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., beginning with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2:00 p.m. in partnership with the Mountain Brook Chamber of Commerce. Fire Station #2 is located at 3100 Overton Road, Mountain Brook, AL 35223.
Construction on Station #2 began on May 7, 2024, and the station can now accommodate up to five firefighters, with the capacity to expand to twelve as staffing needs increase. The new facility has been designed to support modern emergency response operations while also enhancing firefighter wellness and overall departmental readiness.
MBFD Fire Station #2 includes a rapid-response fire pole slide, an on-site gym to promote firefighter health, and a multi-functional apparatus bay that can be converted into a pickleball court during downtime. The station is also equipped with a dedicated storm shelter designed specifically for on-duty personnel during severe weather events.
“This new station represents a commitment to safety, innovation, and the future of emergency services in Mountain Brook,” said Fire Chief Mullins. “We are excited to share this milestone with the community and look forward to serving from this new home.”
Residents are invited to attend the grand opening celebration, tour the new facility, and meet the firefighters who will be serving at Station #2. The event will include food, drinks, and family-friendly activities throughout the afternoon.
