Arbor Week 2021 Celebration

Mayor Welch welcomes guest

Join us on Friday, February 26 for the conclusion of our Arbor Week celebration! At 10 am, The Alabama Urban Forestry Association will present the City of Mountain Brook with the State Arbor Day Community 2021 Award. We will celebrate with the planting of an oak tree in front of City Hall. A special thanks to Hunter Trees for donating the beautiful oak tree to the city. 100 Dogwood trees will be given away at the ceremony. This ceremony is subject to change in response to COVID-19 and masks and social distancing are required.

In addition, the city will celebrate its 27th consecutive year as a Tree City USA and 19th year receiving the Tree City USA Growth Award from the National Arbor Day Foundation. The week long Arbor Day Celebration will begin February 22 through February 26.  Activities include a 1st Grade Tree Giveaway on February 22 and a 5th Grade Arbor Week poster contest.
