Chief Cole has over 18 years of experience in the Fire Service. He has gained experience working in numerous areas while serving as a Firefighter/Paramedic, Apparatus Operator, Company Officer and Shift Commander.

A native of Birmingham, Stacey was born and raised in the Huffman area. He attended and graduated Huffman High School in 1983.

In 1984, Stacey enlisted in the United States Navy as a navigation specialist on submarines. His last operational assignment was with Submarine Group Staff, under the command of Admiral William Owens.

Stacey is a graduate of the Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and is currently pursuing his B.S. of Fire Science from Columbia Southern University.

As Training/Safety Officer for the Fire Department, Stacey is responsible for the following areas: Fire Dept. Training Coordinator, FD/City Safety Officer, Water Distribution System Officer, City Risk Management Coordinator, Inventory Control Officer, ISO Specialist, and Vehicle Maintenance/Procurement Coordinator.

Stacey and Jennifer will celebrate their sixteenth wedding anniversary in June. They make their home in Hoover, Alabama and have two children: Katelyn and Zach.
