The City of Mountain Brook was incorporated in 1942 and was the first city in Alabama to operate under the Council-Manager form of government. The Mayor serves as the policy head of the City and the City Council serves as the Legislative Body for the community. The Mayor and the five Council members are elected at-large for four-year terms as the governing authority for the City. We are pleased to announce that the City provides free WIFI in Crestline Villiage, Overton Park, the High School and adjacent Athletic Complex, Brookwood Forest Elementary playing field,  Rathmell Park, English Village, and Mountain Brook Elementary playing field.  Other outdoor locations are contemplated.

The Mountain Brook Fire Department participated in a joint video project with the members of the Leadership Mountain Brook Class to help educate young people in particular about the dangers of texting while driving.  Please click HERE to view this video.
