Training/Safety Officer

Battalion Chief Kennedy began his fire service career with the Mountain Brook Fire Department in February of 1992.  He has a Bachelors Degree in Public Safety Administration from Athens State University and an Associate Degree in Fire Science from Jefferson State Community College.  He holds a number of certificates from Alabama Fire College and has attended the National Fire Academy.

As Training/Safety Officer for the Fire Department, Battalion Chief Kennedy is responsible for the following areas: Fire Department Training Program Coordinator, Fire Department and City Safety Officer, City Risk Management Coordinator, Water Distribution System Officer, Fire Departments 911 Communications Center Liaison, Inventory Control Officer, ISO Specialist, and Fire Department Fleet Maintenance Coordinator.
