DEA Drug Take Back Day 2024

MBPD will once again be participating in the DEA National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day!

The Take-Back Event will be Saturday, April 27, 2024 between the hours of 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at Canterbury United Methodist Church (Chapel Parking Lot) located at 350 Overbrook Road, Mountain Brook, AL 35213. There will be signage at the church to direct participants to the correct location.

We will accept any unused, expired, or unwanted prescription drugs to be properly destroyed - no questions asked. For your convenience, a drive-thru / drop-off will be set up. If you leave the medication in its prescription bottle, please mark out your name with a sharpie, or dump the medication into a sealed plastic baggie. Be advised we cannot accept sharp items or needles.

Note: All solid dosage pharmaceutical products and liquids in consumer containers may be accepted. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original container. The depositor should ensure that the cap is tightly sealed to prevent leakage.

Intravenous solutions, injectables, and syringes WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED due to potential hazard posed by blood-borne pathogens.

Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine are not a part of this initiative and should NOT be placed in collection containers.

All participants must place the medication into the collection box themselves.
